If weight loss is your goal, then here are the top 5 breakfast foods that you must have on your plate.

1. Greek Yogurt –  As exotic as it sounds, greek yogurt is widely available in supermarkets across, its tangy and creamy flavor satiates the taste palate, while the copious amounts of calcium and protein in it are enough to keep you full through the morning. A good breakfast cuts down on mid morning binge eating urges and thus, helps with weight loss.

2. Eggs – If the gym is your place of worship, then eggs must be a regular on your plate. Eggs provide a lot of protein and is thus, good for dieters. As opposed to a cream bagel or just a glass of milk, two boiled eggs are a better option, as proteins keeps you full and satiated for longer. Well, of course, a word of caution here – when we mean eggs, we mean only eggs and not eggs and bacon and fries!

3. Oatmeal – According to a study in the  Journal of Nutrition, oatmeal is extremely helpful for weight watchers as it is loaded with high amounts of fibre which helps keep full for longer. Also, oatmeal kick starts a process called “slow- release” which basically means that the blood sugar levels in the body don’t spike too high. Insulin has a part to play when it comes to signaling the body for fat storage, thus, having low blood sugar levels means that you can burn off more fat.

4. Grapefruit – Grapefruit is a great option for people trying to lose weight, as it has fat burning capabilities and it helps control blood sugar levels – which in turn contain hunger levels. Grapefruit is also high on water content levels which can keep you full for long.

5. Strawberries – Berries in general are high on antioxidants and low on calories, thus, gorging on strawberries and other berries is a good option for dieters and people looking to shed those extra kilos
