5 Methods of breathing that assist in weight loss
Most of the people concentrate on just diet and exercise while they are trying to lose weight. Not many are aware that even breathing plays an important role in losing weight and also helps to improve body metabolism. Here are a few breathing techniques that can assist you to lose weight.
1. Practice deep breathing for relaxation – Sit in a straight position and exhale all the air from your lungs and then inhale slowly through the nose for six counts. Repeat this ten times every evening when you feel you are stressed and this also assists in losing weight.
2. Cleanse your body with alternate nostril breathing – Sit straight and place the tip of the right index finger and middle finger in the space between your eyebrows. Place your right thumb on the right nostril and position your ring finger near the left nostril. Now press your right nostril and inhale and exhale through the left nostril until there is no more air in the lungs. Repeat this 3 to five times.
3. Deep breathing for energy – First exhale all the air from your lungs and inhale slowly for six counts. Now hold your breath for eight counts and exhale through mouth very slowly. Repeat this every morning eight to ten times.
4. Practice vacuum breathing for toning the core – Exhale all the air from the lungs and hold your breath. Expand your lungs without inhaling and hold this position for at least ten seconds. Now release your breath slowly.
