When it comes to losing weight people usually concentrate on supplements or fad diets. But not many are aware that certain breathing techniques can help to lose weight effectively. Here are a few ways you can use your breathing to lose weight.
1. Breathe to relax – Slowly inhale through your nose six times and exhale all the air from your lungs at a slow pace. Sit straight when you breathe and make sure that you are in a clean and silent atmosphere with your eyes closed. Practising this everyday will help you get rid of any stress and prepare you for weight loss.
2. Try alternate breathing – Sit up straight and place you right index finger on the space between your eyebrows and the right thumb on your right nostril. Breathe deeply through the other nostril and and then repeat this with the other nostril. This technique helps clean your system, and eventually drop some weight.
3. Deep breathing – Inhale the air slowly into your lungs and then exhale slowly through your nose when you feel that your lungs are completely filled with air. Repeat this for about 10 to 15 times. This breathing technique helps increase energy levels and aids in building endurance, especially during exercise.
4. Vacuum breathing – Take a position with your hands and knees on the ground and exhale all the air from your lungs while you take in your belly. Now hold your breadth and expand the lungs without inhaling. Hold this position for ten seconds and release your breadth slowly.
