2. Increased risk of blood pressure problems and heart issues – Diet pills which work as appetite suppressants end up stimulating the the sympathetic nervous system – which preps up the body for increased activity.
This entails increased heart rate and rising blood pressure. Appetite suppressing diet pills function on the premise of speeding up the body’s processes to burn fat. However, this can be unnatural and unhealthy, and reports have suggested that it poses the risk of a heart attack.
3. Not useful in the long run – Diet pills are meant for a quick fix and not for long term use. If you continue taking diet pills in the hope of losing some more weight, then the body has its ways of making itself immune to these kind of drugs.
